Terms and Conditions of Use

1.1 - Registration to MissingStudios.com is free! We do however insist that you abide by the rules and policies detailed below. If you agree to the terms and wish to join our community, please tick the box below and press the 'Register' button. You are free to browse the website without registration.

1.2 - Although the administrators and moderators of MissingStudios.com will attempt to keep all objectionable comments, forum posts and content off the site, it is impossible for us to monitor every corner of the site. All comments and forum posts express the views of the author, and the owners of MissingStudios.com will not be held responsible for the content of any message.

1.3 - By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are offensive, derogatory, obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws. MissingStudios.com is essentially a video game website associated with the video games industry, in particular 'The Sims' franchise. Our site is predominately populated by younger members, and we therefore request that members comment and upload content respectfully.

1.4 - One individual human being is permitted to register one single account on MissingStudios.com. Members who register additional accounts on MissingStudios.com will have all accounts permanently banned.

1.5 - Connections made via anonymous proxies are not permitted.

Privacy Statement

2.1 - In order to gain membership to MissingStudios.com, we require a valid e-mail address and location. We keep your e-mail address private, along with your IP address at time of registration. We record your IP address every time you login to the site. All logins are session based for the security of your account and the website.

2.2 - Additional information may be volunteered, such as the 'about me' section, along with your chosen traits and favourites, but this information is not required. You can control what information is displayed under 'My Account' when logged in.

2.3 - Information (Such as E-Mail address and IP address) is kept confidential, and measures are in place to prevent access to, misuse and dissemination of the information we hold about you by unauthorized personnel.

2.4 - You may request that your member account to be disabled (Permanently banned). You may also request personal information to be removed from your profile. Please allow up to 48 hours for processing.

COPPA Policy

3.1 – In accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Act of 1998 (COPPA), we do not accept registrations from individuals under the age of 13. We apologise for any inconvenience. 

Posting Links/ Advertisements

4.1 – Please note that chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are inappropriate on MissingStudios.com. Fansite owners are free to advertise their site on the specified area on the forum, however one-post-wonders wanting solely to advertise their web site or products will have their membership banned and forums posts/comments removed.

4.2 – While we welcome the broadcasting of additional and relevant resources, we will not tolerate blatant website advertising. Such posts we deem fall into this category will be removed and appropriate action taken. Site owners who contribute to our community frequently are more than welcome to link to their website and/or additional resources on MissingStudios.com in the specified forum, where appropriate and within reason.

Censoring

5.1 - The site is designed to automatically censor explicit or offensive words. Please do not attempt to circumvent the censor. Words detected by the censor will be replaced by an asterisk. All enquiries may be directed to staff via our PM system.

Spam Policy

6.1 – MissingStudios.com operates a strict no-spam policy. Members spamming our site and/or forum with frivolous and/or duplicate posts will have their posts removed and their account banned for a specified period of time. Persistent offenders will have their account banned permanently.

6.2 – The forum has features which enable members to both edit their own posts in order to add commentary, and to quote other messages. You are required to make good use of these features as double (or chain) posting has been disabled.

Copyright Policy

7.1 – Please do not post or upload material you do not own without the permission of the author. By posting or uploading material on the site or forum, you are agreeing that you either own the item you are posting and/or have permission to post the item. Please do not post or upload illegal material on the site or forum, or any material which contravenes international piracy laws.

Free Media Policy

8.1 – Our free media policy applies to all forms of copyright-exempt digital media. Non-exclusive, copyright-exempt media doctored and posted and/or referenced on our site or forum for the purpose of the website promotion will be removed, and action will be taken on those responsible. This does not apply to fan-created content.

Signatures and Avatars

9.1 – 'Signatures' contain information that you want to include at the bottom of all your forum posts. We allow you to include text, emoticons, images and links. Long or large signatures however, are not permitted. There is a height limit of 100 pixels on the signatures.

9.2 – 'Avatars' can only be generated on the site or imported from TheSims3.com. Avatars appear in numerous locations on the site to allow users to quickly identify the author of the post, comment or item.

Legal Statement

10.1 – MissingStudios.com, its owners and/or operators take no responsibility for the content, links to or use of the content of the forum post messages or uploaded content, nor do we endorse the opinions of the authors. You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless MissingStudios.com and their agents with respect to any claim based upon transmission of your messages/comments or uploads.

10.2 – We at MissingStudios.com reserve the right to delete any forum post/comment or upload for any or no reason whatsoever. We also reserve the right to ban any member account for any or no reason whatsoever.

10.3 – Missing Studios reserves the right to alter these rules at any time. Please check back regularly and see Amendments 11.1.
