Im sure you are already aware as we have been talking about for quite a while now the next and probably the most groundbreaking version of Missing Studios is currently in development and im pleased to say the site is now almost ready for release! We have been working hard to create a site thats much more appealing to the community, something refined and somewhere everyone can come together. Some of the features were discussed previously in a recent news article and we have so much to show you, we simply cannot wait! As you are probably aware here at Missing Studios we have a tendency to let the site run to its maximum potential as soon as a new version is released, then let it turn to more of an ancient ruin.
Well we are pleased to say this will no longer be the case! The next version of Missing Studios will be here for you whenever you need the latest news or a complete mixture of Sims content! This version is more community focussed and is down to business with the ability for a greater source of input from yourselves. We simply cannot wait to show you our next version of the site! We hope you will be as pleased as we are. Just to re-literate here's a couple of the features the next version of Missing Studios will have.
- Login/Registration system - The points below are the reasons for why we have implemented this. - Avatars - Either import your avatar from TheSims3.com, or generate your own with a wide choice of sims and backgrounds to choose from. - New improved Signature Generator - No flash player required, therefore high quality signatures all the time. Also, due to the fact that you need an account now, you can freely update these signatures at any time and they'll automatically update on the sites you embed them on. Please note that all current signatures will need regenerating within 3 months of the new sites launch to make way for this new feature. - Machinima Uploads - Upload your own machinima to the site where users can watch, rate and comment after a moderation process. - Custom Content Uploads - Upload your own custom content to the site where users can download, rate and comment after a moderation process. - User profiles - Leave comments on one another's profiles, show off your game collection and all of your uploaded material. - Game Guides - Read from many of our game guides that hope to make you a better simmer! - Flash Games - Battle with one another to get the number one spot in our new online flash games (Maybe released after site launch). - Forums! - New custom forum script has been put in place for users to discuss a whole host of topics. - Goodies - We'll be creating new wallpapers, avatars and other goodies as little freebies to say thanks for visiting Missing Studios.
We Cannot wait! We would like to thank you for your continued support with Missing Studios and we hope to carrying on providing you and bringing you some of the best Sims content available today as well as bringing the community together in an entirely new way. The Signature Generator has been updated to provide support for The Sims 3 Ambitions. It includes 6 new traits: Born Salesman, Dramatic, Eccentric, Eco-Friendly, Perceptive and Savvy Sculptor. 2 New Music Genres: Roots and Soul. And of course, Ambitions is now on the 'Favourite Games' list.
If you are planning on changing an existing signature, please delete the old one first. - Signature Generator
I'd just like to inform you that we are still here and we will be updating the site again shortly. We have been mentioning a new version of the site for quite a while now, and due to personal circumstances I've not been able get the site done as quickly as I had planned. However, I now have a lot of free time on my hands so I plan to get the new version of the site up as soon as possible. 27th Apr 10 - EAUK Hands-on with The Sims 3: Ambitions
Like with The Sims 3 and World Adventures, EAUK is holding another entry-based fan event. Thanks Sims3Nieuws.
We’re offering UK Sims fans the chance to play the upcoming expansion pack for The Sims 3 on May 10th, nearly a month before the game releases!
No purchase of any goods or services is necessary to be eligible for entry into this competition. To enter go to The Sims™ 3 forums at The Sims 3 – Electronic Arts UK Community and send a Personal Message to EAUK_Competitions telling us in no more than 50 words what careers you are planning for your Sims in The Sims™ 3 Ambitions.
Entries will be judged against originality, artistic direction & creativity. Entrants must also provide the following information: Name, Age, Contact email address. This information will only be used for this promotion, will not be used for any other purpose and will be deleted after use.

27th Apr 10 - Details on Free Expansion DLC for The Sims 3: Ambitions
We always new that free DLC would be available upon registering The Sims 3: Ambitions, however we have now learnt exactly what that content will consist of. This free "Ultimate Career Bundle" will include new hairstyles for the stylist career, new gadgets for the inventor, new works of art for the sculpture and new cases for the detective. Knowing that EA will be launching this type of free expansion/gameplay DLC, will we be seeing more mini-expansions on the store? I hope so!
27th Apr 10 - New Maxis project coming: mix of The Sims & Spore
I didn't fully read through the article we just posted however Judhudson did and picked up a little info from it on the upcoming project by Maxis.
Currently, as SVP and general manager of Maxis, she’s working on something that promises to have Maxis’s DNA, though she will only hint at the game’s concept. “I can tell you that that sense of being able to create these living creatures and do so in a way that felt really meaningful to players — leveraging that, but even giving them a little more context by which they can ultimately experience an experiment with their creation – -that’s one direction that we’re taking,” she says. The game will undoubtedly be compared with the The Sims and Spore — two of the most innovative games in history. How does she cope with it? “It’s no pressure whatsoever,” she jokes.
27th Apr 10 - Lucy Bradshaw named one of the "Most Influential Women in Technology"
Lucy Bradshaw has been named one of the most influential women in technology by Fast Company(?). She reports that SimCity got her into game development and EA's purchase of Maxis was noticed by her on maternity leave.
Lucy Bradshaw was on maternity leave from Electronic Arts when she heard the company had acquired video game powerhouse Maxis. "When I heard about all this happening, I was like, 'I want to work there; that's what I want to do,'" she says. "SimCity was the thing that got me into the video game business -- it was the first game I played all night long." After graduating from college, Bradshaw did a stint at LucasArts before landing at EA. There, following the acquisition, she became an executive producer on SimCity 3000. She had found her calling.
24th Apr 10 - Heroic Careers Follow-up Interview with Gamespot
Like what happened with the latest Creative Careers round, Grant has also committed himself to an interview with Gamespot on the recent Heroic Careers blog. Personally, I really need to catch up on all this stuff i've missed.
GS: We understand that in addition to the creative career tracks we covered previously, Ambitions will offer additional "heroic" career paths, such as medicine, firefighting, and private investigation. Give us an overview of these careers. Why were these particular paths chosen?
GR: Fire has been one of the most consistent menaces dating back to even the original The Sims. We wanted to take something that's been so ordinary for so long and make it epic, a little challenging, and really chaotic. Firefighting was one of the first careers we designed. We had a lot of fun crafting more story-driven adventures in The Sims 3: World Adventures, so we wanted to take it a step further. Private investigation seemed like a natural fit for our "Sims noir" style, and our open world was perfect for Sim-styled mayhem.
We love doctors (such great fiction to be had!), and we were pretty happy with the ones from The Sims 3. We saw this as a great foundation for The Sims 3: Ambitions.
24th Apr 10 - Virtual Tour of EA Redwood Shores - Part One
Although very short (it is only part #1), The Sims 3's facebook team added a short video of the exterior of the EA Redwood Shores and then moving into the lobby. Next up will be the atrium which they'll be sharing soon.
